David Beckham Becomes UK’s First Billionaire Sports Star as Oasis Join Rich List

English football icon David Beckham and former Spice Girls star turned fashion entrepreneur Victoria Beckham have officially crossed the billionaire mark, according to the newly released Sunday Times Rich List 2026.

The celebrity couple are now estimated to be worth a massive £1.2 billion, with Beckham becoming the first British sports personality to achieve billionaire status. Their growing empire reportedly continues to expand through fashion brands, endorsement deals, media projects, business investments, and global partnerships.

The latest rankings also welcomed Britpop legends Oasis to the wealthy elite for the first time. Brothers Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher are said to share a combined fortune of around £375 million, decades after the band became one of Britain’s most successful music acts.

UK’s Wealthiest Families Revealed

Leading the rich rankings once again are billionaire businessmen Sanjay Hinduja and Dheeraj Hinduja. Their family-controlled Hinduja Group, which operates across oil, banking, transport, and international investments, holds an estimated fortune of £38 billion.

Property investors David and Simon Reuben remained among Britain’s wealthiest figures, while tech and finance entrepreneurs continued gaining ground in this year’s rankings.

One of the biggest financial surges came from Revolut co-founder Nik Storonsky and trading businessman Alex Gerko, whose fortunes rose sharply amid the continued growth of the fintech sector.

King Charles Climbs Above Sunak

Charles III also experienced a financial increase, with his personal wealth now estimated at £680 million after growing by roughly £40 million over the past year.

The increase places the monarch ahead of former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty, whose combined wealth is believed to stand at £563 million.

Billionaire Losses and Business Struggles

While several personalities enjoyed strong financial growth, others experienced heavy declines.

British inventor James Dyson reportedly lost billions from his estimated fortune this year, while INEOS founder and Manchester United stakeholder Jim Ratcliffe also recorded a notable financial drop.

Economic shifts, international tariffs, and changing global markets were cited among factors affecting some of Britain’s richest business figures.

New Entrants Make Headlines

Among the fresh names joining the list is Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis and her family, whose wealth is estimated at around £400 million.

Businessman Christopher Harborne also gained attention after his high-profile political donations linked him closely with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.

Several globally recognised celebrities also featured in the rankings, including Elton John, Mick Jagger, J. K. Rowling, Lewis Hamilton and Brian May.

Tyson Fury Makes Under-40 List

Heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury emerged among the newest additions in the Sunday Times “40 Under 40” rankings, which highlighted Britain’s youngest wealthy figures.

The list also showcased the growing dominance of artificial intelligence startups and self-made entrepreneurs, with Gymshark founder Ben Francis continuing to rank among the country’s richest young business owners.

Britain Sees Decline in Billionaires

Despite the enormous fortunes listed, the overall number of UK billionaires has reportedly dropped compared to previous years.

Financial analysts say an increasing number of wealthy individuals are relocating to destinations such as Dubai, Monaco, and Switzerland as economic and tax pressures continue reshaping Britain’s financial landscape.

The Sunday Times Rich List measures wealth using visible assets such as company shares, investments, property, land, luxury collections, and business holdings, excluding undisclosed private bank balances.
